Other: The Metropolitan is located on the top of the Omni hotel. The hotel is 21 stories tall. The Metropolitan is floors 22 through 32. The Metropolitan has its own private entrance and elevators, its own pool, shared gym, restaurant room service and maid services are available from the hotel.

Why The Metropolitan condos made the Top 10 List: The Metropolitan condos are perhaps downtowns most exclusive condominium with only 36 residences. The Metropolitan condos are on top of the Omni hotel, they occupy the top 10 floors (22-32). The condo residents have their own separate entrance from the hotel guest and their own pool and large outdoor deck overlooking Petco Park. Every unit at The Metropolitan is a corner unit with three of the four units offering great bay views. Lots of glass, 10 foot ceilings and lots of natural light makes these great condos for those looking for a prime view. Located at the entrance to the Gaslamp Quarter these condos are close to a lot of restaurants and shops as well as the bay across the street. The Metropolitan offers two special amenities you can not get in other buildings, room service and maid service from the hotel (for a separate charge). Prices start about a million dollars.

Units facing these directions will probably see: 
West: Views to the west from the Metropolitan condos are some of the most unobstructed in downtown. The Metropolitan is located across the street from the convention center which is not very tall and thus a panoramic view to the West. Off in the distance you will see several high rise towers along the skyline. The Metropolitan is built with the bay view side unit facing SW. The best view is SW, as the farther west you look the more tall building you will see off in a distance. 
North: Only two floor plans have views to the North and the bedrooms face North, it’s a awesome city lights view at night and you can even watch the airplanes fly a mile or two up the road. 
East: The East view from the Metropolitan condominiums is also a very panoramic view out to the mountains. If you look down you can see directly into Petco Park and see about half the playing field. To the SE is the rail yard looking down, the ship yard looking out and all the way to the hillsides of Mexico. 
South: This is the most valuable view in the Metropolitan, the only obstruction is the Hilton Hotel, which I think is very pleasing to the eye. The South views include the bay, Coronado island and Coronado Bridge and out to the ocean.

Like the most: The Metropolitan residents conveyed to me they love the panoramic city and bay views, which are available from every unit. Residents also mentioned that living here is a total maintenance free lifestyle as you can eat in the hotel restaurants (or order room service), have the hotel maids clean your home and even have the hotel take care of your laundry and dry cleaning. Several compliments were made on the pool area, including its privacy, size, and views from the pool area. Residents also liked the high ceilings inside the units.
Like the least: Residents here at the Metropolitan had little to complain about.
Other comments:

A couple residents mentioned that they were very impressed with the standard finishes as they were of a higher quality than the base offerings of other builders.
