by Mark Mills - Downtown Condo Expert - RE/MAX Real E

San Diego is such a great place to live and an even better place to retire.  There are many reasons why San Diego is high on everyone's dream list of places to live.  Such factors as the most perfect weather in America,  very diverse economy and three great health care providers (Scripps, Sharp & UCSD).  A recent survey by Wallet Hub ranks San Diego as the best city to retire in.  While their survey ranked the best large cities to live in showing Austin, TX as number one.   If you take out the income tax factor San Diego shoots to number one while Austin falls to sixth place.   Once you retire and no longer have to worry about taxes coming out of your paycheck San Diego becomes the most attractive place to live according to the survey which used 31 data points to arrive at their rankings.

Its here (almost) "RethinkDowntown" San Diego Internationally Curated Exhibit

Downtown San Diego is just in the first year of another good 10 year real estate cycle.  You can see it from the cranes in the sky that have been apartment building and hotels up until now.  Just recently the first crane for a new condo went up for the Pacific Gate condominium project on the corner of Pacific Highway and Broadway, a block West of the USS Midway.

To help you understand the future of downtown San Diego you need to go visit the RETHINKDOWNTOWN exhibit that will open later this month on First Avenue across from Nordstrom's Horton Plaza.  This exhibit is will feature images, videos and a scale model of downtown, put together from over a dozen design firms around the world.  A lot of private money is going into this exhibit which will be the largest privately funded exhibit in downtown.

Visit the website, where you can register for an invitation and updates, please put my name in the how did you hear about us line when registering.  This exhibit is free and attendance is expected to be 10,000 people over the course of the two months its open.

As we work our way through the next couple of years in downtown, you will see several high rise condos being built as well as several hotels and never soon enough the expansion of our convention center.
